Application documents

Only applications containing all required documents will be assessed. Make sure all documents comply with the instruction and templates. To apply, you will need to submit the following documents:

  •  A completely filled out Application Form.
  • Copy of the photo page of a valid passport.
  • Certified copy of relevant Diplomas and, if available, Diploma Supplements. If you have not yet graduated, you should provide proof of enrollment with an expected graduation date (self-funding students only – scholarship applicants must have obtained a first degree at the time of application). If documents are not in English, you should additionally provide a certified translation.
  • Certified copies of academic transcripts and, if applicable, a list of courses pending completion (including course credits). If documents are not in English, you should additionally provide a certified translation.
  • Explanation of the grading system in place at the degree-awarding institution.
  • Writing sample, e.g. piece of previous coursework like an undergraduate thesis or other research paper. Ideally, an abstract/summary with details on your (under)graduate research project/thesis would be useful.
  • Curriculum Vitae in English.
  • Official proof of English language proficiency. If official proof of English language-proficiency has not yet been obtained at the time of application and you do not qualify for an exemption, you should include a statement on when test results are expected. Please read our criteria for language tests carefully.
  • Letter of Motivation in English (maximum 750 words), including a motivated statement on your preference for the ReD Global 2nd semester hosting institution.
  • Two completed reference forms (in English), according to the template. Please note that at least one reference must come from an academic referee; the other reference may also be provided by a professional referee.
  • Optional: official proof of (socio-)economic vulnerability. Please note that if you want to submit proof of socioeconomic vulnerability, only proof supported by official documentation will be accepted (examples: former university’s statement about you receiving a grant for vulnerable students, proof of refugee status, government or municipality-issued proof of low income). If you do not have proof, you may choose to incorporate relevant circumstances in your motivation letter instead.

Note: the documents requested can be attached to the online application form. Please attach all documents in PDF format.
